Client Success Manager

Own client communication, keep campaigns moving, and help business owners understand what their marketing is doing and why it matters.

No Dig Trenchless Marketing is looking for a Client Success Manager who can confidently manage relationships with U.S.-based service businesses while coordinating with SEO, paid search, web, content, and automation teams.

This is a remote role for someone who is organized, proactive, comfortable speaking with clients, and able to translate marketing performance into clear business conversations.

  • Sewer repair companies
  • Drain cleaning companies
  • Trenchless contractors
  • Pipe lining businesses
  • Hydro jetting companies
  • Drainage contractors
  • Plumbing and drain companies
  • Septic companies

Our services include:

  • SEO
  • Google Business Profile management
  • Google Ads
  • Website design and development
  • Reputation management
  • AI search optimization
  • Lead generation
  • LeadWise and CRM automation

Our clients are business owners who care about visibility, leads, booked jobs, and growth.

The Client Success Manager helps connect the work our team performs with the outcomes the client cares about.

About the Role

The Client Success Manager will be responsible for managing client relationships from onboarding through ongoing campaign delivery.

You may be responsible for:

  • Kickoff calls
  • Client onboarding
  • Monthly strategy calls
  • Performance reporting
  • Project coordination
  • Follow-up
  • Approval management
  • Expectation setting
  • Internal communication
  • Client retention
  • Identifying risks and opportunities

This is not simply a customer-service position.

You need to understand enough about digital marketing to have useful conversations with clients and enough about project management to keep work moving.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Client Onboarding

Help new clients move smoothly from signed agreement to active campaign.

This may include:

  • Scheduling kickoff calls
  • Collecting business information
  • Confirming goals
  • Gathering access
  • Identifying priority services
  • Confirming target locations
  • Understanding current marketing
  • Organizing next steps

A strong onboarding process reduces confusion later.

Kickoff Calls

Lead or support kickoff calls designed to understand:

  • The business
  • Services
  • Target market
  • Ideal customers
  • Current challenges
  • Growth goals
  • Operational capacity
  • Previous marketing experience

The purpose is not simply to complete a questionnaire.

You should come away with a practical understanding of what success looks like for the client.

Strategy Communication

Our specialists may build the strategy, but the Client Success Manager needs to communicate it clearly.

You should be able to explain:

  • What we are doing
  • Why we are doing it
  • What the client should expect
  • What information we need from them
  • What happens next

Clients should not need to understand technical SEO terminology to understand the strategy.

Monthly Strategy Calls

Prepare for and manage recurring client meetings.

Calls may cover:

  • SEO performance
  • Google Maps visibility
  • Google Ads
  • Website changes
  • Leads
  • Reviews
  • Completed work
  • Current priorities
  • Client questions
  • Next steps

The goal is to make meetings useful rather than simply read numbers from a report.

Performance Reporting

Help clients understand metrics such as:

  • Organic visibility
  • Rankings
  • Google Maps visibility
  • Traffic
  • Calls
  • Forms
  • Cost per lead
  • Google Ads performance
  • Review growth
  • Lead quality

Good reporting should answer:

What happened?

Why does it matter?

What are we doing next?

Keep Reporting in Context

You should be able to explain why:

  • Rankings can fluctuate
  • SEO takes time
  • One weak month does not necessarily indicate campaign failure
  • Traffic without leads may signal a conversion problem
  • Lead quality matters more than raw lead count
  • Google Maps rankings differ by searcher location

Context is one of the most valuable things a Client Success Manager can provide.

Project Coordination

Work across departments to make sure client work moves forward.

You may coordinate with:

  • SEO specialists
  • Local SEO specialists
  • Paid search specialists
  • Writers
  • Designers and developers
  • Marketing operations
  • Leadership

You should know:

  • What is due
  • Who owns it
  • What is blocked
  • What requires client input
  • What needs escalation

Client Approvals

Help obtain timely approval for:

  • Website content
  • Landing pages
  • Designs
  • Campaign changes
  • Business information
  • Photos
  • Messaging

If approvals are delayed, you should follow up proactively rather than allow projects to stall silently.

Identify Blockers

Common blockers may include:

  • Missing website access
  • Google Business Profile access
  • DNS access
  • Missing photos
  • Client approvals
  • Business information
  • Tracking access
  • Payment issues
  • Third-party verification

Your role is to identify these early and help move them toward resolution.

Manage Expectations

Digital marketing involves uncertainty.

You should be comfortable explaining that we do not guarantee:

  • #1 rankings
  • Exact lead counts
  • Exact timelines
  • Google Business Profile reinstatement
  • Specific Google Ads results
  • AI-platform recommendations

We set realistic expectations and focus on measurable improvement.

Client Questions

Clients may ask questions such as:

  • Why am I not ranking yet?
  • Why did calls drop this month?
  • Should we increase Google Ads budget?
  • Why do I rank in one part of the city but not another?
  • Why do we need more reviews?
  • Do we need another service page?

You do not need to personally execute every marketing task.

But you should understand enough to either answer clearly or get the right specialist involved.

Client Retention

Strong retention comes from:

  • Good work
  • Clear communication
  • Accurate expectations
  • Proactive updates
  • Responsiveness
  • Visible progress

Your role is not to pressure clients into staying.

It is to make sure they understand the value of the work and feel that their account is actively managed.

Identify Expansion Opportunities

As campaigns evolve, you may identify legitimate opportunities involving:

  • Additional SEO
  • New service areas
  • Google Ads
  • Website improvements
  • Review management
  • LeadWise automation
  • New locations

Recommendations should be based on real business needs.

We do not push services simply to increase account value.

What We're Looking For

You should be:

  • Highly organized
  • Proactive
  • Comfortable speaking with clients
  • Strong in written communication
  • Comfortable managing multiple accounts
  • Able to prioritize
  • Calm under pressure
  • Comfortable asking questions
  • Good at following up

You should also understand the fundamentals of digital marketing.

Marketing Knowledge We Expect

You do not need to be the person executing every campaign.

But you should understand concepts such as:

  • SEO
  • Local SEO
  • Google Business Profile
  • Google Maps rankings
  • Google Ads
  • Website conversion
  • Reviews
  • Lead tracking
  • CRM
  • Cost per lead

This allows you to communicate confidently between clients and specialists.

Experience We Value

Strong candidates may have experience in:

  • Digital marketing agencies
  • Account management
  • Client success
  • Project management
  • Local SEO
  • Paid search
  • U.S. client communication
  • Home services
  • SaaS or recurring-service environments

Experience managing local service-business clients is especially valuable.

Excellent English Is Important

Most clients are based in the United States.

You should be comfortable:

  • Speaking English on video calls
  • Writing professional emails
  • Explaining complex topics simply
  • Handling difficult conversations
  • Presenting reports

Clear communication is a core requirement for this role.

Tools & Platforms You'll Work With

Depending on the client, you may use:

  • LeadWise
  • GoHighLevel
  • Google Analytics 4
  • Google Search Console
  • Google Business Profile
  • Google Ads
  • Local SEO reporting platforms
  • Call tracking
  • Project management tools
  • Video meeting software
  • Email and team communication tools
  • Reporting dashboards
  • AI tools

You do not need to be an expert in every platform before applying.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role may include:

  • Smooth onboarding
  • Fewer missed deadlines
  • Faster client approvals
  • Clear monthly calls
  • Better client understanding of results
  • Stronger internal coordination
  • Fewer unresolved blockers
  • Higher client satisfaction
  • Better retention
  • More proactive communication

A successful Client Success Manager makes both the client and the internal delivery team more effective.

How We Think About Client Success

Do Not Overpromise

We would rather set a realistic expectation than make an unrealistic promise to make a client happy temporarily.

Communicate Before There Is a Problem

Do not wait for the client to ask:

What's going on?

If something is delayed or blocked, communicate it.

Good News Matters Too

Client communication should not be a list of problems.

Highlight:

  • Ranking improvements
  • Lead growth
  • Maps visibility
  • Completed work
  • Review growth
  • Strong campaign performance

Clients should understand what is working.

Be Honest About Problems

If performance is weak, do not hide it behind vanity metrics.

Explain:

  • What happened
  • What we think is causing it
  • What we are changing

Understand the Client's Business

A client may care much more about sewer replacements than drain-cleaning volume.

That context should influence how performance is discussed.

Be the Connector

You do not need to know every answer immediately.

You do need to know who can provide the answer and make sure the issue gets resolved.

Nice to Have

Helpful experience includes:

  • SEO reporting
  • Google Ads reporting
  • Local SEO
  • Google Business Profile
  • CRM systems
  • GoHighLevel
  • LeadWise
  • Call tracking
  • Conversion tracking
  • Website projects
  • Sales or customer success
